Pay transparency

Pay transparency in Slovakia

Whether the Directive has been transposed here, under which act, and what it asks of an employer. The duty is the national law's, never the Directive's own date.

Who it applies to
Employers, through their own state's law, once it is in force.
The dates
The states had until 7 June 2026 to transpose it.
The one thing to do
Read the act below: it is Slovakia's law that binds you, not the Directive.

Where the state stands

Slovakia has communicated Zákon č. 76/2026 Z. z. o rovnakom odmeňovaní mužov a žien za rovnakú prácu alebo za prácu rovnakej hodnoty a o zmene a doplnení niektorých zákonov to the Commission as transposing the Directive.

In force since 7 June 2026.

The register of communicated measures was read on 23 October 2026.

What the national act asks

Zákon č. 76/2026 Z. z. sets the first report per headcount band, and how often it comes back.

What the national act asks
WorkersFirst reportThen
250 and above7 June 2027every year by 15 April for the preceding calendar year
100 to 2497 June 2027every three years by 15 April for the preceding calendar year

What it adds to the Directive

  • Slovakia merges the Directive's two middle bands: one three-yearly duty for 100 to 249 employees, and an annual one at 250 and above (Section 14(2) and (3)).
  • The annual deadline is 15 April of the following calendar year, a month the Directive does not mention (Section 14(2)).
  • An employer with at least 150 employees reports first by 7 June 2027, for 1 August to 31 December 2026 only (Section 18(3)). One with 100 to 149 reports first by 7 June 2031, for 2030 (Section 18(4)).
  • An employer established before 7 June 2026 had to have its pay structure in place by 31 July 2026 (Section 18(1)). That date has passed, and no date in the Directive says so.
  • Below 100 employees a report may be provided and is not required (Section 14(4)).

What the Directive sets, whatever the state has done

Employers with 250 workers or more report from 7 June 2027, and every year after. Those with 150 to 249 workers report every three years from the same day. Those with 100 to 149 workers report from 7 June 2031.

Those days are the latest a national law may set. A directive binds the state, and the employer owes what its own state enacted.
