Questions

What suppliers ask first

Short answers, each with the article it rests on.

Does NIS2 apply to us as a supplier?

Not because you supply a NIS2 company. It applies to you if your own sector is in Annex I or II and you are medium-sized or larger, or if a rule that applies at any size, or your state, brings you in.

Art 2(1)Art 2(2)
What can our customer ask of us?

What its own measures need: security in its relationship with you, and your vulnerabilities, product quality and secure development.

Art 21(2)(d)Art 21(3)
Do we have to be ISO 27001 certified?

No law requires it. Many customers accept the certificate as the evidence for their questions, and some contracts ask for it.

Art 21(2)(d)
Our customer wants incidents reported within 24 hours. Is that NIS2?

The 24-hour early warning is your customer's duty to its authority under Article 23. Its contract with you can pass a shorter clock on, so it can meet its own.
